Boat bottoms can be cleaned using either soda or walnut.
SODA:
The most common media used is "soda". This will remove paint without damage to the gel coat. If you
are going to repaint , you must clean the surface well to remove the residue . Soda is water soluble ,
this makes clean up easy as far as the grounds around the blast site, It is possible for grass and
some plants to be effected , although most will recover.
WALNUT:
Walnut can also be used to remove paint without damage to the gel coat. There are no special cleaning
concerns with walnut ,and what doesn't get swept up after will not harm plants or grass and will biodegrade.
